The Economy in the Eyes of a Five-Year-Old

We had to go to the laundromat the other day to wash our sheets and blankets.  I had to buy $40 worth of quarters and we used a good portion of those for the 12 loads of covers we washed.  As we were leaving, Hannah and Christopher each had a few quarters left in their pockets.  Christopher asked if they could keep the ones they had left and I said that would be fine.  Five-year-old Hannah looked at her money and there was a penny mixed in with the quarters.  She handed me the penny and said, “You can keep this.  It’s not very useful.”
